I am a craftsman and an artist and I have always made things. STONEHOSS is my brand . It is a New American Luxury Workshop that I began in 2008 but have been building my whole life. STONEHOSS is not organized in the super efficient and maximally profitable structure that enriches the leaders and deprives the craftsmen. STONEHOSS is focused equally on elegant design and excellent craftsmanship. STONEHOSS is made in America, but it is more than that. It is a guiding principle that craftsman who makes the product is compensated at the same level as the consumer who buys it.The proliferation of consumer products is the result of devaluation of labor and the craft. A man or woman need not be a pauper because he or she wishes to make shoes.
I desire for American Craftsmanship to stand at the same level as European. I have great Respect for Traditional Craftsmanship and Design - handmade shoes in particular. I have a reverence for traditional process, tools, and machinery - particularly my grandmother's Singer on which I closed the uppers of my first pair.
I have always been a craftsman and an artist. When I was a kid I had time and miles to dream and to explore. First I learned Handsewn shoemaking. Then I learned the rest. And I continue to learn every day.
Each STONEHOSS product is individually handmade, with very little on hand inventory, ensuring the scarcity that defines luxury.
Whether it is machine or hand stitched, it is all handmade and will ship when its manufacture is completed which, depending on complexity, will be one to two weeks. Luxury necessitates scarcity and limited production ensures a luxury product.
Bespoke handmade shoes are available upon request because every foot is as unique as the individual.
